I began playing Half-Life about a year after it actually came out. I only started playing, after being prodded by my brother to play this "great 1st person shooter." He pushed me to get it for about a month, and I finally relented. I havent put it away since. After playing it for about a week, he told me of the online games you could play with it. I downloaded and played Team Fortress, was hooked instantly. I then moved onto another HL Mod, Oz Deathmatch. Oz taught me how to move and shoot. How lingering players die quickly and mobile players last longer. From Oz I moved to Day of Defeat. Was simply blown away by the graphics and gameplay. I've stayed with DoD ever since. As a kid I grew up with a father who loves military planes. I used to goto the airport with my father and watch planes land and takeoff. That being said, I began studying aviation on my own and read about a squadron in the German WW2 Luftwaffe, based out of Abbeville France. They were considered one of the most fierce squadrons in the air war over britain, and inflicted heavy casualties throughout the war. JG-26, They were known by two nick names in the American and British armies. The Yellow Nosed Bastards and The Abbeville Kids. So rather than take the name...TheYellowNoseBastard....and have people wonder if I was big bird, I took TheAbbevilleKid.
